When I try to load a file my friend created, it says that it doesn't support the new file format. Is your build based on some older version? Otherwise it seems to work. Programs load rather fine from the main application.
Btw, it still seems to fail when routing (does not redraw properly).
Also, I checked more carefully the error message it gives when trying to open a file of format 2:
"I only support format version
When I'm editing a new library symbol, click on edit properties, then use Command-C to copy some text, the edit properties dialog box closes. Command-X to cut, then Command-V to paste works fine.
I'm using mountain lion and it seems ok. What errors are you getting ?? I have to run the apps individually (e.g. eeschema, cvpcb, pcbnew, ...), rather than via the kidad app as these debug builds have an issue which cause the apps to hang if called form the kicad app.
In this build (bzr 3833) I ran into a weird bug related to layer names in pcbNew. When you select the menu option to do the Layer Setup, any option you choose throws an error:
Layer name has an illegal character, one of: '%^" /\.'
And for whatever goofball reason the Kicad developers chose to have all of the layer names include a period (F.Cu, etc). I can't figure out how to change the layer names (other than the copper names, anyway).
