sorry, but your new version of Cvpcb doesn't fix the issue for me. I still have an empty component list in Cvpcb.

My netlist does not show up as well.

My netlist test is as simple as:

I have to admit, I am new to KiCAD, but a tutorial I was working through showed that the resistor and capacitor should show up in cvpcb.

Also, I should note that if I load the demo file pic_programmer.net, some of it's components do show up.

I am on OSX Lion 10.7.5
