Hey,

thank you for providing MacOSX binaries for Kicad! I have one problem/question, however. In the main application (kicad.app) clicking on the buttons for launching the special purpose applications such as eeschema or pcbnew does not work "out of the box". I had to create sub directories for each application, e.g. put eeschema.app in eeschema/eeschema.app (relatively to kicad.app).

This did not work for bitmap2component.app, however. Can you tell me where to put its binary to be able to launch it from the main kicad.app?

Oh, and it seems that pcb-calculator.app is missing in your zip file, at least for this release of yours. I haven't tried other files you provided, yet.

Cheers,

Johannes

You are right, i've update the ZIP (is the same build) now pcb_calculator is inside.

I don't raccomand launching command by kicad.app, as this is a debug build. the problem anyway seems to be this:
18:39:09: Debug: wxMacLaunch Bad bundle: open
I'll take a look soon.

Hey,

Thank you for your support! I saw your patch addressing the "open" bug on Launchpad today (rev 3741) and build that revision myself to check it. In the resulting binaries, every "launch button" from kicad.app works (while having all .app files in the same folder)

However, in my binaries there is a nasty drawing bug in both eeschema and pcbnew when moving around components/parts/footprints. They get redrawn at each position the mouse stops. Those ghost images do not vanish until I hit CMD-R to force a redraw or zoom in/out.

Since I did not came across that bug in your build of rev. 3719, I wanted to ask, if you applied some secret patches before building or if I should file a bug report on launchpad against rev 3741?

By the way, I checked the ZIP file linked here in this post for pcb_calculator.app and it is still missing. Am I looking for the right ZIP file?

Cheers,

Johannes
